Travelling to Islay
Islay is accessible by air or by ferry.
There are regular flights from Glasgow to Islay serviced by Flybe which take approximately 45 minutes. It is also possible to fly from Oban with Hebridean Air Service.
There are regular ferry services from Kennacraig that sail to Port Ellen and Port Askaig. These services are put on by Caledonian Macbrayne.
The easiest way to get to Kennacraig is by car, although there is a bus service from Glasgow that leaves from Glasgow Central station and is put on by ScotRail.

You can also rent a car from Port Ellen Airport using the Islay Car Hire Company
It is also possible to rent bikes from the post office in Bowmore.
