Lg3
Islay single malt scotch whisky
This distillery, like most on Islay, sits on the seashore. While the debate as to whether the location imparts a coastal character or not continues to rage, there’s no doubt that Lg3 is a very maritime dram.

Tasting notes

Nose
Salted lemons, white pepper and new tennis shoes. Fruit develops in the glass – grapefruit, candied lemon and fruit chews – along with an air of sea spray and crashing waves. Lime peel, pith and juice appears behind the fruit along with toffee and a background of spicy wood smoke. -
Palate
Sweet fruit – apples and bananas – and smoky gravel notes lead, with white-pepper spice following. As the spice calms down, even more fruit comes through, with a hint of smoky barbecue sauce and rich black liquorice. -
Finish
Liquorice and wood ash, sweetening with time to become stewed apple with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
