Islay single malt scotch whisky
The seventh in the Cl series is from a single cask from the mid-1990s, and is one of the most refreshing, focused bottlings of the entire range, with precise citrus and textured peatsmoke.
Core FlavourFresh citrus, coastal air
Cask detailsA single 1995 refill butt.
NoseWhistle clean, with zesty lemon and lime combining with sea-spray and oyster shells. A sharp intake of maritime air with a background note of fresh smoke.
PalateAgain, clean and refreshing, with a medicinal note, plenty of lemon zest and black pepper. Precise and poised, with light smoke and spices adding weight to the clean fruit.
FinishThe refreshing citrus stays strong to the end, while the wispy smoke gently fades.
- Black pepper
Cl7 is classy stuff, with razor-sharp citrus cutting through the peat and smoke.
Medicinal notes, lots of coastal things. One of the most mouthwatering whiskies I’ve come across.
