Tasting notes

  • Nose

Really gentle, delicate and fresh, with wood smoke, freshly cut peat and After Eight mints. Spice develops with time in the glass.
  • Palate

The whisky comes alive. A strong scent of lavender is turned by the salty Islay wind, bringing out notes of smoked salmon and sweet whisky sauce with smoky vanilla. Salted caramel and vanilla sponge-cake flavours follow, along with the distillery’s classic character: iodine and minerality.
  • Finish

Sweet and salty caramel bonbons with pungent but clean medicinal and menthol notes.

  • Probably the best Laphroaig I've had all year. Highly recommended.
