Torba is a blended malt, bringing together the power of one of the world’s most heavily peated whiskies, the classic lemongrass and smoked kipper character of the island’s largest distillery and delicate fruity notes from well-aged, north-coast Islay malt.
Bottled exclusively for Velier in Italy to celebrate the company’s 70th anniversary in 2017, Torba is limited to just 1,200 bottles and has been released at cask strength.

NoseOld, well-used, slate-lined fire pits lead to apples, pears and singed mango. Damp earth lies underneath, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with charcoal.
PalateSweet and fresh to start, with a burst of sea spray followed by royal-icing-wrapped fruit cake studded with sultanas and burnt raisins. Lighter fruit notes of poached apple and pear build, with liquorice, menthol and coal-fired stoves underneath.
FinishGreen leaves and menthol fade to leave orange and lime fruit gums, charcoal, dark chocolate and a hint of burnt mint.
